Towards shock-responsive social protection: Synthesis Report

The COVID-19 pandemic has triggered an unprecedented use of social protection programmes and systems. The pandemic has also led to innovation in relation to how social protection is delivered during crises. Our country reports documented the use of social protection programmes, processes, and delivery systems in Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Kenya, Pakistan, Sierra Leone and Uganda. This report presents a cross-country analysis of these social protection responses to identify common enabling and constraining factors for shock-responsive social protection, best practices, and areas for future investments..
