The COVID-19 pandemic has triggered an unprecedented expansion of social protection systems world wide. Drawing from our synthesis report, this policy brief highlights the effectiveness of the social protection responses in mitigating the impact of the pandemic, constraining and enabling factors to the response and, provides recommendations to policy makers on improvements to the social protection response.
