Globally, the number, duration, and size of natural hazards is on the rise. In Bangladesh, Maintains is focusing on social protection and this literature review is designed to systematically document the existing evidence base around the nexus of extreme poverty, natural hazards and social protection in Bangladesh which will help develop a stronger evidence base on how essential social services can adapt and expand to respond to changing needs during and after shocks, whilst maintaining existing services.
